Plain terms for using Homeowner CFO
Last updated September 29, 2026
These terms describe how Homeowner CFO may be used and what you can and can’t rely on it for. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. They are written in plain language and are a working draft while the product is in private testing; we will update this page if they change.
What Homeowner CFO is
Homeowner CFO is an organizing and decision-support tool. It helps you record information about your home and shows calculations and estimates based on what you enter, such as equity, ownership costs, due dates and a financial calendar.
What it is not
Homeowner CFO provides information for educational and informational purposes only. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal, insurance, real-estate, construction or other professional advice. It is not a property appraisal, a broker’s opinion of value, a contractor quote, an insurance review or a lender offer, and it does not assess or certify the condition of your home. Consider consulting an appropriately qualified professional before making significant financial or property decisions.
Estimates and your information
Figures in Homeowner CFO are calculated from the information you provide and the assumptions shown alongside them. They can be incomplete or differ materially from actual values, costs and outcomes. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for any decisions you make using the app.
Maintenance and safety
Maintenance suggestions are general guidance about common homeowner practices. They may not apply to your home. For safety-critical or complex work, including electrical, gas, HVAC, plumbing, roofing or structural work, consult a qualified professional.
Your account
Access is currently by invitation. Keep your sign-in details secure and let us know if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. If you share a home with a viewer, you are responsible for choosing who you invite.
Your data
How we handle your information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Availability
We work to keep the app available and working correctly, but it is provided as is and as available during testing, and features may change, be interrupted or be removed. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses arising from reliance on estimates or information shown in the app.
Changes
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
