Privacy policy

Your home’s numbers belong to you.

Last updated September 18, 2026

Homeowner CFO holds some of the most personal financial information you have: what your home is worth, what you owe on it, and what it costs you to keep. The product is designed to collect as little as possible beyond what it needs to work, and to leave you in control of what you enter. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have.

One note on how to read this page: it describes how Homeowner CFO works today. Where we expect the product to grow, for example by adding optional AI features, we say so, and we will update this policy before any such change takes effect.

The short version

  • Your records are protected by access controls designed to restrict each account’s information to that account.
  • Homeowner CFO does not currently sell personal information, and does not currently share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • The product currently contains no advertising and no third-party analytics trackers.
  • The figures you see are calculated by code from information you enter. Homeowner CFO does not currently send your home or financial information to third-party AI services.
  • You can correct or delete individual records yourself, and you can ask us to delete your account at any time.

What we collect

Homeowner CFO is designed to hold as little as possible beyond what the product needs:

  • Account information: your email address and authentication credentials. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
  • Home information: the property address, characteristics, purchase details, and major home components you enter.
  • Financial information: the mortgage details, home value estimates, property taxes, insurance, HOA costs, reserve balances, and planned expenses you voluntarily enter.
  • Maintenance information: the maintenance tasks, schedules, completion dates, costs, and notes you record.
  • Session data: a sign-in session stored in your browser’s local storage so you stay logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
  • Technical information: like most websites, our hosting and database providers process your IP address, browser and device information, and standard server logs when you visit, as part of delivering and securing the service.

Homeowner CFO does not currently collect documents, photos, bank connections, or credit reports, and it does not fetch information about your home from outside sources. Every value in your account is either entered by you or calculated from what you entered. Features like document storage may be added in the future; this policy will be updated before they are.

Information you provide vs. information we calculate

Homeowner CFO calculates some figures from the information you enter, for example estimated equity, appreciation or depreciation since purchase, component ages, maintenance due dates, annual ownership costs, and financial calendar totals. These figures are arithmetic derived from your own inputs. They are estimates, not independently verified facts, and they are only as accurate as the information behind them.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • create and maintain your account and authenticate you when you sign in;
  • store and display your home, financial, and maintenance records;
  • perform the calculations the product shows you, such as equity, ownership costs, and maintenance due dates;
  • send account emails such as sign-in confirmations and password resets;
  • provide support when you ask for it;
  • maintain and secure the service, and detect and prevent abuse or unauthorized access; and
  • comply with legal obligations, where they apply.

We do not currently use your information for advertising, product analytics, profiling, or AI model training.

Who can see your data

Homeowner CFO uses access controls designed to restrict each account’s records to the person signed into that account. These rules are enforced by the database itself, not only by the application, and they apply on every read and write.

One honest caveat: as the operator of the service, we have administrative access to the systems that store your data. That access exists so the service can function and so we can help when something goes wrong. Our intent is to access account information only when reasonably necessary: for support you have requested, to maintain and secure the service, to prevent abuse, or when required by law. If that posture changes, we will update this policy first.

How your data is protected

  • Connections to Homeowner CFO are encrypted in transit using HTTPS.
  • Access rules are enforced by the database on every read and write.
  • System credentials are kept out of the application’s source code.
  • Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we never see or store them.

We take reasonable measures designed to protect personal information, but no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will provide any notices required by applicable law.

Third-party service providers

Homeowner CFO runs on a small set of providers:

  • Lovable hosts the application and its underlying cloud infrastructure. Lovable’s privacy policy.
  • Supabase provides the managed database and authentication service where your account and records are stored, and delivers account emails such as sign-in confirmations and password resets. Supabase’s privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on this site. Loading a page sends a standard request to Google (including your IP address) to retrieve the font files. Google’s privacy policy.
  • If you choose to sign in with Google, Google acts as the identity provider for that sign-in, subject to the same Google policy linked above.

We do not currently use AI providers, advertising networks, analytics services, or property-data services such as automated home-valuation sources. These providers process information as needed to deliver their part of the service; their own privacy policies govern their handling of it.

Artificial intelligence

Homeowner CFO does not currently use third-party AI services to process the financial or home information you enter into the product. We may introduce optional AI features in the future; if we do, we will update this policy before or when the relevant processing begins, as required by applicable law, and any such features will be described clearly in the product.

Advertising and analytics

Homeowner CFO does not currently sell personal information, share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, or run advertising or third-party analytics trackers in the product. We will not promise this can never change, but if it does, we will update this policy and provide any notice required by applicable law before the change takes effect.

Demo mode

The public demo you can explore from the landing page contains fictional sample data only. It runs entirely in your browser: it makes no database requests, stores nothing, and has no access to any real account’s records.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can remove individual records yourself at any time within the app. To delete your account and the information associated with it, contact us as described below and we will do so. Copies may persist for a limited time in our providers’ backup systems before they are removed in the ordinary course.

Your choices and rights

  • You choose what to enter. Any field you leave blank stays blank; the product shows “Not provided” rather than filling gaps for you.
  • You can view and correct your records at any time in My Home, Maintenance, and Finances.
  • You can sign out from any device, which ends the local session.
  • To request a copy of your data, or to ask us to delete your account, contact us as described below.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. If you contact us about your information, we will do our best to respond reasonably and promptly.

Where information is processed

Our providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States, where privacy laws may differ. By using Homeowner CFO you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

Children

Homeowner CFO is intended for adult homeowners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date above, and we will provide any additional notice required by applicable law before material changes take effect.

Contact

Questions, requests, or reports about privacy: we will publish our current contact method on this page. Until then, requests can be made from within the app and we will update this section as our contact options change.
